Many things in life come and go; this unreliable phenomenon is full of temporary things that flit and flicker through our daily lives. And it is easy to be seduced by that which glitters. But remember this - do not be seduced by the thrill or excitement of something new but react with caution. There are many wondrous things in life some of which are ephemeral, but the greatest of all these are timeless.
Today consider the miracle that is the universe. Think what an amazing miracle life and you in particular are. Situated on a lump of rock spinning around a massive ball of burning gas, an ordinary star in an ordinary galaxy of millions of stars in a universe of millions of galaxies... what else is out there, awaiting discovery? Will we ever move to new worlds, encounter new intelligent races? Think on this today.
If you find life one ongoing competition, where you have to run faster and faster on the treadmill to stay still and keep up with your neighbours, then stop looking over your shoulder. Close the curtains at night and look around you. Do you have what you need? Do you have food on the table and clothes on your back? The illusion of competition is no concern of yours.
One of the hardest things in the world can be to take determined action. So many times it is easier to write a plan, to create that bullet point list of things you are going to do to take over the world (or just to achieve your goals).
Do not get caught in the trap of planning everything and doing nothing. Be brave today and do something that you have put off doing for some time. Whether it is something large or small, do it today - you will feel very satisfied when you have and will truly have accomplished something great.
